I am becoming increasingly ambivalent about football in general and college football specifically. Not sure I’ll ever be able to drop it completely, but I have lost my love of the game.

I am becoming increasingly ambivalent about football in general and college football specifically. Not sure I’ll ever be able to drop it completely, but I have lost my love of the game.

While I generally enjoy the way statistics provides new ways of seeing the game, too often they get lost in trying to quantify the action and lose sight of why we watch the games themselves. That said, I did enjoy this exercise in measuring when a missed basket can be beneficial for the shooting team.

From this week’s WhatIf (you should totally check it out, if you’ve not seen it before). I bet this was a fun paper to research.
